About LINGOs - Overview

LINGOs is a not-for-profit consortium of over 75 international humanitarian relief, development, conservation and social justice organizations that share learning resources and experiences. By providing the latest learning technologies and courses from our partners, LINGOs helps our member non profits to increase the skill levels of their employees, and therefore increase the impact of their programs.

Created in 2005 as a means for organizations to share learning resources, LINGOs is continuously expanding as more organizations become aware of the value of membership. LINGOs has served as a central contact point for private sector organizations that are interested in assisting the sector but want to see their contributions of software, courseware, systems and services be leveraged across many organizations.

LINGOs operates a Learning Management System (LMS) that contains hundreds of courses on Leadership and Management Development, Information Technology, Project Management, Stress Management for Humanitarian Workers, Personal Safety and other topics. LINGOs Member Agencies can access the content through custom branded portals or through a shared portal depending on their level of membership.

Finally, through the generous support of partner organizations, LINGOs makes available a wide range of tools for developing, distributing and implementing learning strategies.

The LINGOs Volunteer Program matches LINGOs member learning needs with experienced professionals interested in giving back some of their time and talents.  LINGOs members request support in utilizing LINGOs learning tools (such as Articulate, Elluminate and Outstart Trainer), formulating learning strategies, designing and developing courses, managing their LMS, and much more.

LINGOs also utilizes volunteer talents to design and hold training in areas such as on-line facilitation and project management; review LINGOs course offerings for content relevance, and help with sharepoint and LMS maintenance, among many others. The ways LINGOs can use volunteers are limitless!

LINGOs Volunteers work virtually!  They come primarily from the private sector and are highly skilled in the areas of organization learning strategy, training and facilitation, eLearning tools, etc.

The LINGOs Volunteer Community is a space where LINGOs members and volunteers can connect and learn together.  This site is where you can:

By providing us with the resources to learn (better, faster, cheaper), LINGOs has allowed our employees, teams, departments, and country affiliates to measurably improve performance that directly translates into increased health impact. LINGOs’ support was key to our implementing e-solutions.
