ACCION's goal is to have a significant impact on poverty by building self-sustainable microfinance institutions (MFIs) capable of reaching millions of poor microentrepreneurs. We do this by promoting commercial microfinance, providing our network of MFIs with a broad range of technical support. ACCION International's partner microfinance institutions today are providing loans as low as $100 to poor women and men entrepreneurs in 22 countries in Latin America, the Caribbean and sub-Saharan Africa, and in more than 30 U.S. cities and towns. Together, ACCION affiliated programs have disbursed $9.4 billion in microloans to more than 3.9 million borrowers. Ninety-seven percent of these loans have been repaid.

AED is a bridge, a link between the problem and the solution, the need and the resource, people and their potential. Founded in 1961, AED is an independent, nonprofit organization committed to solving critical social problems and building the capacity of individuals, communities, and institutions to become more self-sufficient. AED works in all the major areas of human development, with a focus on improving education, health, and economic opportunities for the least advantaged in the United States and developing countries throughout the world.

The American Refugee Committee (ARC) The American Refugee Committee (ARC) is a Minnesota-based nonprofit international humanitarian relief organization. For more than 25 years, ARC has worked to save and improve the lives of refugees, displaced people, and others impacted by conflict or disaster in Africa, Southeast and Central Asia, and the Balkans. Currently operating in 12 countries, ARC programs provide health care, clean water, shelter repair, legal aid, trauma counseling, microcredit, community development services, and repatriation assistance to nearly one million people annually. Aeras Global TB Vaccine Foundation is an international non-profit organization working to develop new tuberculosis vaccines and ensure that they are distributed to all who need them around the world. Aeras is structured to promote multiple vaccine candidates simultaneously, so the best vaccine can be developed as quickly as possible. The organization is committed not only to increasing the pace of vaccine development, but also to making that future vaccine available at reasonable cost for worldwide distribution in high-burden countries

 Association of Private Voluntary Organizations Financial Managers (APVOFM) provides financial management training and information for private, voluntary organizations worldwide. 

CAFOD
is the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development, the official overseas development and relief agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales

 

CARE works with poor communities in more than 70 countries around the world to find lasting solutions to poverty. They look at the big picture of poverty and go beyond the symptoms with a broad range of programs based on empowerment, equity and sustainability that seek to tap human potential and leverage the power of communities and individuals to unleash a vast force for progress.

Catholic Relief Services aids the poor by first providing direct assistance where needed and then encouraging the people with their own development through economic assistance programming. Together this fosters secure, sustainable and just communities. CRS is also committed to educating the people of the US to fulfill their moral responsibilities to our brothers and sisters in the developing world.

Christian Aid is the preferred development agency for 41 Christian Churches in Britain and Ireland. We work in 52 countries and our essential purpose is to expose the scandal of poverty, to help in practical ways to root it out from the world and to challenge and change the systems which favour the rich and powerful over the poor and the marginalised. We do this through a partnership approach which is at the heart of the way we do business both with our supporter base in Britain and Ireland and with our partners and alliances we work with overseas.

 

Episcopal Relief and Development responds to human suffering around the world. We provide emergency assistance after disasters, rebuild communities, and help children and families climb out of poverty.

 

GAN-Net is a growing community of Global Action Network leaders, researchers, funders and other stakeholders who are committed to developing global action networks that serve the public good.  Participants learn and work together to build the capacity of GANs to cultivate partnerships, steward initiatives, and achieve results.  GAN-Net participants also collaborate to advance the collective influence of global networks to improve social, economic and environmental outcomes worldwide.

Global Partnerships Global Partnerships is an innovative leader in the fight against poverty around the world through microlending programs to help the poor help themselves, the development and sharing of model programs that offer sustainable solutions to poverty, and through theInitiative for Global Development; which is working to mobilize business and civic leaders to make the elimination of global poverty a national priority.

Global Partnerships creates economic opportunity, helping people access the resources they need - capital, healthcare, education, and infrastructure - to generate their own sustainable income and positive momentum in their lives.

Habitat for Humanity International is a non-profit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. Habitat seeks to eliminate poverty and homelessness throughout the world and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action, Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need.

Headington Institute provides psychological and spiritual support to relief and development workers worldwide. The institute specializes in training workshops and education materials to help humanitarian workers understand and cope with traumatic stress, counseling, orientation and debriefing, and consulting on effective staff care strategies.

Heifer's mission is to work with communities and families to end hunger and poverty and care for the earth. They use the gift of a source of food rather than short term relief and expect the offspring of the gift to be passed on to others in the community along with the knowledge, resources and skills to create an expanding network of hope, dignity and self-reliance.

International Justice Mission is a human rights agency that rescues victims of violence, sexual exploitation, slavery and oppression. A multi-national team of law enforcement professionals and legal staff conduct criminal investigations and collect evidence to rescue victims and bring perpetrators to justice. IJM then works to ensure victims have access to quality aftercare and encourages structural changes to prevent the abuse from being committed against others who are also at risk. IJM is determined to bring the church and public into increased awareness of the cases of manifest injustice that exist in the world and of the opportunities to correct these injustices by the diligent application of professional training and expertise.

International Rescue Committee At work in 25 countries, the IRC delivers lifesaving aid in emergencies, rebuilds shattered communities, cares for war-traumatized children, rehabilitates health care, water and sanitation systems, reunites separated families, restores lost livelihoods, establishes schools, trains teachers, strengthens the capacity of local organizations and supports civil society and good-governance initiatives. For refugees afforded sanctuary in the United States, IRC offices across the country provide a range of assistance aimed at helping new arrivals get settled, adjust and acquire the skills to become self-sufficient

Ipas has worked for three decades to increase women's ability to exercise their sexual and reproductive rights and to reduce deaths and injuries of women from unsafe abortion. Ipas's global and country programs include training, research, advocacy, distribution of equipment and supplies for reproductive-health care, and information dissemination.

Mercy Corps alleviates suffering, poverty and oppression by helping people build secure, productive and just communities. They provide emergency relief services, develop sustainable communities with strategies that include agriculture, health, economic development, education and infrastructure and they promote civil society initiatives in all programming encouraging non-violent conflict resolution and justice.

Oxfam UK Oxfam works with others to overcome poverty and suffering. Oxfam's work is based on the belief that everyone has the right to life and security, the right to a sustainable livelihood, the right to basic social services, the right to be heard and the right to equity. Oxfam works at all levels from global to local, including international governments and global institutions as well as with local communities and individuals, to ensure that everyone's rights are fulfilled and protected.

PATH is an international, nonprofit organization that creates sustainable, culturally relevant solutions, enabling communities worldwide to break longstanding cycles of poor health. By collaborating with diverse public- and private-sector partners, we help provide appropriate health technologies and vital strategies that change the way people think and act. PATH advances technologies for low-resource settings. Technologies must be effective, culturally acceptable, available, and affordable to the people who need them most. We strengthen health systems, because only stable systems can make use of technologies, and because all people - no matter where they live - need and deserve reliable health information and services. Additionally, we encourages healthy behaviors, working with communities to help people examine - and challenge - assumptions and traditions that may contribute to poor health.

People In Aid is an international network of development and humanitarian assistance agencies. People In Aid helps organisations whose goal is the relief of poverty and suffering to enhance the impact they make through better people management and support.

Plan International works to achieve lasting improvements for children living in poverty in developing countries, through a process that unites people across cultures and adds meaning and value to their lives

Population Council conducts research worldwide to improve policies, programs and products in three areas: HIV and AIDS; poverty, gender and youth; and reproductive health.

Rare Conservation works globally to equip people in the world's most threatened natural areas with the tools and motivation they need to care for their natural resources. 

Save the Children US is the leading independent organization creating real and lasting change for children in need in the United States and around the world. They work with families to define and solve the problems their children and communities face using a broad array of strategies to ensure self-sufficiency which is the cornerstone of all Save the Children programs.

The Nature Conservancy is the leading conservation organization working to protect the most ecologically important lands and waters around the world for nature and people. The mission of The Nature Conservancy is to preserve the plants, animals and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive.

The Wildlife Conservation Society saves wildlife and wild lands worldwide. We do so through science, global conservation, education, and management of the world's largest system of urban wildlife parks, led by the flagship Bronx Zoo. Together, these activities change individual attitudes toward nature and help people imagine wildlife and humans living in harmony. WCS is committed to this mission because it is essential to the integrity of life on Earth.

World Vision is a Christian relief and development organization dedicated to helping children and their communities worldwide reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty. World Vision helps transform the lives of the world’s poorest children and families in nearly 100 countries including the United States. Their non-profit work extends assistance to all people regardless of religious beliefs, race, gender or ethnic background.

WWF was born into this world in 1961. It was the product of a deep concern held by a few eminent gentlemen who were worried by what they saw happening in our world at that time.  Since those early days WWF has grown up to be one of the largest environmental organizations in the world. Currently there are more than 1300 WWF conservation projects underway around the world.  The vast majority of these focus on local issues. They range from school nature gardens in Zambia, to initiatives that appear on the packaging in your local supermarket. From the restoration of orangutan habitats to the establishment of giant panda reserves.
