Our member agency, Aeras Global TB Foundation, has created an entire curriculum for teaching people how to become better trainers. This site is for sharing the great contact that they have built. Many thanks to Pam Eddy who built the content and Jen Page from Aeras for their willingness to share what they are doing with other agencies. Here's the overview of the project:
In 2007 Aeras Global TB Vaccine Foundation created a 25-hour classroom-based course for people who have significant instructional responsibilities in clinical studies. Aeras believes this course can be modified by other LINGOS member organizations to provide relevant instruction for their training staff.
Possible modifications include offering individual modules instead of the full course, creating synchronous web-based training modules, or creating asynchronous learning modules.
The aim of the current course is to strengthen staff’s facilitation and instructional design skills. The course is designed to provide participants with information, practice, and feedback.
The specific goals are to ensure participants can
• Select instructional strategies
• Demonstrate effective facilitation strategies
• Demonstrate effective use of classroom materials
• Design locally relevant activities
• Evaluate personal and other’s instruction
• Develop a perception of self as facilitator
