In September 2010, LINGOs and the InterAmerican Development Bank begin a 12 month program to provide project management training to Non-profit organizations’ staff in Haiti.  LINGOs will partner with the team of the joint RedR/BioForce office in Port Au Prince to conduct 4 face-to-face workshops; to implement a training of trainers program; to deploy a coaching system; and to manage a Learning Management System which includes e-learning resources for Haitian project managers. 

Learners who complete the learning activities will be prepared to sit PMDPro1 certification  – the first credential in a three-level certification sequence for project managers working in the international development sector.

A one-hour webinar that explores the current state of project management in the international development sector and introduces a proposed certification mechanism for project managers who run international development projects.

A  five-day project management training workshop will be held in  Manila from September 21-25.  The event, hosted by Ateneo University, will focus on the unique chalenge of managing projects in the international development, relief and conservation sectors.

The International Institute for Learning (IIL), an industry-leading project management training provider, will be three free webinars introducing the main elements of the PRINCE2™ project management methodology.  The Prince2 methodology is a de facto standard used extensively by the UK Government and is widely recognised and used in the private sector, both in the UK and internationally.

An exciting new International Award, from the UK’s professional body for project managers, is open to humanitarian projects completed within the past two years by Non-Governmental Organisations (eg, international aid and development organisations).

The winner will be invited to the Association for Project Management (APM) Conference and 16th Annual Awards Dinner in London on 21 October 2009 and will join winners in other categories to receive a prestigious trophy and recognition by the project management community.

On Thurday, May 21 at 11:00AM EDT (Washington D.C. Time) PM4NGOs will host a 90 minute on-line event  entitled Strong Project Leadership:  Managing Teams in Complex Environments.  The session  will examine the skills successful project managers and leaders need to make project teams perform at the highest level n today’s complex projects.

The Project Integration course is the first in the PM4NGOs Foundations of Project Management course sequence and is a prerequisite for all other courses.  The Project Integration course consists of 3 sessions, each of 2.5 hours  (total of 7.5 hours.)
