How to Prepare for the PMD Pro1 Examination

There are multiple preparation options available for those interested in completing the PMD Pro1 certification. The performance support materials listed below should serve as the foundation of the learning program for the PMD Pro1 and should be complemented by one (or more) of the training resources.

PMD Pro1 e-Learning Modules

These e-Learning modules are designed to prepare learners to pass the PMD Pro1 examination. The modules are each approximately 5 minutes in duration and specifically address learning objectives that are aligned to the Guide to the PMD Pro1.

PM4NGOs is currently completing the process of recording these modules. The learning program is expected to be fully complete on May 1, 2010.

A Guide to the PMD Pro1

The PMD Pro1 certification examination is based on the contents of the Guide to the PMD Pro1. The Guide can be used, alone or in combination with other learning resources, to prepare for the PMD Pro1 exam.

The guide is comprised of two sections. The first focuses on the role of the project manager within the context of a generic project life cycle that has been contextualized to the international development sector. The second section is comprised of six chapters and examines each of the phases in the project life cycle of development project.

The PMD Pro1 Sample Exam

You can get a flavour of the PMD Pro Level 1 examination by trying a sample exam. The questions will probe your understanding of working in development with key techniques and procedures and will assess your experience of applying them in real situations.

The exam consists of 75 multiple choice questions that are typical of the sort of questions in the main examination. You will have 60 minutes to complete it. The pass mark is 65% which means you must get 49 or more questions correct to pass the exam.
